2-Room Apartment Renovation · Brno · 2026

An apartment designed for the life of a young family. The original layout offered several small rooms, while a windowless entrance hall took up a disproportionate share of the flat. The design therefore began by rethinking the whole space and looking for a way to make meaningful use of its potential. We merged two smaller rooms into the main living space with a kitchen, dining area and living room.

Behind the TV wall we created a separate study for both spouses, who work from home. The large entrance hall became a walk-in wardrobe – the room is formed by the joinery itself, topped with glazing and a fabric film that lets light travel further into the flat.

The bedroom and children's room sit on the other side of the apartment, separated by an unconventional angled partition that let us work better with the position of the existing window and bring daylight where it is needed. The new layout is completed by soft neutral tones, wood and a few bolder details.

We also decided to keep the original historic doors, which after restoration will remain a small reminder of the apartment's original character in the centre of Brno.
