The client's brief was fairly open – create a simple, pleasant interior that joins the kitchen, dining area and living space with a fireplace into one functional whole. The design rests on clean lines and a calm palette. Light wood and neutral tones are complemented by a warm colour accent in the living area, which gives the space character without disturbing its restraint.

The fireplace is a defining element, naturally connecting the individual parts of the living zone. Timber slats, an open bookcase and delicate botanical motifs soften the simple geometry of the furniture and bring lightness and detail into the space.
